Simply put, the writer's intent is the purpose behind the words—what you want to communicate or achieve through your writing.

You might be writing to entertain, crafting stories that captivate and transport readers to another world. No matter the genre or style, having a clear understanding of your intent helps guide your choices in language, tone, and structure.
When you’re aware of your purpose, your writing becomes sharper and more focused. It also helps readers connect with your message because they can sense the clarity behind your words. Whether you're writing a blog, an essay, or even a creative piece, knowing your intent makes all the difference.
Next time you start writing, take a moment to ask yourself:
What am I hoping to achieve with this? It’s a small step, but it can greatly enhance the impact of your work.
